CAREER:
Has played in nine games during his Mississippi State career . . . Redshirted his true freshman season and then limited during his second year by injury . . . Came to Mississippi State as a highly regarded defensive line candidate out of the Atlanta-area high school ranks.
2006:
Played in nine games during his redshirt freshman season . . . Only missed playing time in three of the season’s first four weeks by injury . . . Made his first appearance for the Bulldogs during Week 2 action against Auburn, an appearance cut short by an ankle sprain . . . That ailment and his resulting rehabilitation forced him to the sidelines for State’s Week 3 and 4 games with Tulane and UAB . . . Returned to the playing field in Week 5 at LSU . . . Began to tap his unlimited potential with a solid spring practice session, one cut a week short due to an off-field incident . . . Made six tackles, including a pair for loss, during the initial two scrimmages . . . Ranked as the top back-up at defensive tackle heading into August two-a-days.

Started at defensive end for the North squad in the Georgia North-South All-Star game . . . Rated the No. 31 prospect in the Peach State by UGAsports.com . . . Ranked with the top 50 defensive linemen in the state of Georgia by Georgia Grapevine.com recruiting web site . . . He ran a 4.7 40-yard dash at the NIKE Atlanta Clinic prior to his senior season . . . Credited with a 315-pound bench press max by Rivals.com web site . . . Named first-team all-state on the defensive line in the Class 2A division by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution . . . Despite missing two and one-half games during his senior season, he still managed 140 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 15 of which were quarterback sacks, 20 quarterback pressures, seven caused fumbles and 12 pass deflections . . . He helped lead head coach Darren Myles’ Eagles to the state postseason playoffs in ’04 . . . Recorded 79 tackles, including 13 for loss, seven of which were quarterback sacks, with four fumble recoveries during his junior season . . . Earned second-team, all-city following that junior campaign . . . Also a standout at tight end at Crim High School in Atlanta, Ga., he served as the team’s deep snapper as well . . .
