Pressed into immediate service upon his arrival on the Mississippi State campus from the Louisiana prep ranks . . . Limited by injury during his first season at State . . . Has played in 23 games (out of possible 25) during his MSU career . . . Has earned one starting assignment . . . Has made 10 tackles, including two and one-half for loss (minus 4 yards), one and one-half of which was a quarterback sack (minus 3 yards) . . . Highly recruited defensive lineman who helped his Bastrop High School team to a pair of state titles.
2008:
Played in all 12 games during his sophomore season as a reserve on the defensive line . . . Recorded eight tackles on the year, including two and one-half for loss (minus 4 yards), one and one-half of which was a quarterback sack (minus 3 yards) . . . Registered at least one hit in eight of those 12 games . . . Had one hit in Mississippi State’s season opener at Louisiana Tech . . . Registered a 2-yard quarterback sack, the first of his career, in the Bulldogs’ home-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana . . . Had one hit in State’s SEC opener vs. Auburn . . . Added another hit one week later at Georgia Tech, a 1-yard tackle for loss . . . For the fifth-straight week, made one tackle at LSU in Week 5 . . . 2007:
Played in 11 of a possible 13 games during his true freshman season at Mississippi State (includes the bowl game) . . . Only missed seeing game action in back-to-back games at mid-season vs. UAB and Tennessee due to injury . . . Earned his first collegiate start, the only one of his initial season on campus, in Mississippi State’s Week 4 win over Gardner-Webb . . . Registered one tackle each in Week 2 vs. Tulane and at Arkansas in the next-to-last game of the regular season . . . Lost valuable development time during the middle of his freshman season with plantar fasciitis, an injury that held him out of two games and limited him in others.

That site also ranked him as the No. 27 prospect, regardless of position, in the state of Louisiana . . . Rated as the No. 53 defensive tackle prospect in the country by recruiting web site Scout.com . . . Ranked among the top 75 defensive linemen in the Southeast by PrepStar recruiting magazine in its season-ending yearbook . . . Credited with running a 4.9 40-yard dash by that publication . . . Rated with the top 50 defensive linemen in the southeast by Rivals.com recruiting yearbook following his senior season . . . Considered the No. 26 prospect, regardless of position, in the state of Louisiana by SuperPrep Magazine in its pre-season edition . . . Moved up four spots from that publication’s pre-season ranking following his senior season . . . Earned all-state recognition after his junior and senior campaigns, leading Bastrop to a pair of state championships . . . Registered 62 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five of which were quarterback sacks during his senior season for head coach Brad Bradshaw at Bastrop (La.) High School . . . That defense shut out five opponents, held the opposition to less than a touchdown per game, and helped Bastrop go 15-0 during his senior season for the Rams . . . Made 76 total tackles, with 10 tackles for loss, six of which were quarterback sacks, during that junior campaign . . . Also forced three fumbles . . .
