CAREER:
Rebounded from serious health issues once he arrived at Mississippi State from junior college ... Overcame throat cancer, surgery and the recovery from that illness to become the Bulldogs’ most consistent fullback until his junior season was curtailed by a shoulder ailment ... Has played in seven games at State, earning a starting call in the backfield four times ... Has caught nine passes for 70 yards and proven to be one of the team’s most persistent blockers ... He came to Starkville after a junior college career at Holmes (Miss.) Community College.
2007:
Played in seven games during an abbreviated junior season, starting four times at the fullback position ... Played just once in the first five weeks (vs. Gardner-Webb), but saw action in six of the season’s last seven games (missing only the season-ender against Ole Miss) ... Started three straight mid-season games (UAB, Tennessee and West Virginia) and the Week 11 contest at Arkansas ... Earned his first collegiate start and substantial playing time at Mississippi State in the Bulldogs’ Week 6 win over UAB ... Served as the blocking back ahead of halfback Anthony Dixon, who rushed a career-best 32 times for a career-high 152 yards, and a career-topping three touchdowns ... Also caught one pass for 15 yards in the 30-13 win over the Blazers at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field ... Added two catches for 7 yards against Tennessee in Week 7 ... Made two more receptions one week later at West Virginia, gaining 15 yards on those catches ... For the third-straight week, made a pair of catches (18 yards) in the Bulldogs’ Week 9 win over Kentucky ... Tied for the team lead with two pass receptions (15 yards) in the club’s 17-12 win over nationally No. 21-ranked Alabama ... Suffered a shoulder injury against the Crimson Tide, an injury he aggravated during practice preparation for Week 11 game at Arkansas ... Made the start against the Razorbacks but quickly retired to the sidelines nursing the same injury ... Did not play in the season-ending Battle For The Golden Egg vs. Ole Miss due to his shoulder problems.

Played two seasons of running back for head coach Hugh Shurden at Holmes (Miss.) Community College.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Helped lead Weir High School to a three-year record of 38-4, one Class 1A state championship and another state title appearance ... Led the Lions to a 15-0 record during his senior season for head coach Harold Graham when he earned all-state honors ... Helped Weir to a 14-2 mark during his junior campaign ... Played tight end as a sophomore ... Also lettered three years each in basketball and baseball.
