Credited with a 285-pound bench press max, he did 19 repetitions of 185 pounds on the bench at the Baton Rouge NIKE Training Camp . . . That performance was sixth-best among linemen at the camp . . . Selected to play in the Mississippi-Alabama High School all-star game following his senior season . . . Was a three-year starter on the offensive line for head coach Larry Weems at Pearl (Miss.) High School, helping the Pirates to a 25-10 mark during those years . . . As an offensive guard, he helped lead his prep team into the state’s postseason playoffs as a senior . . .
