CAREER:
Highly regarded place-kicker who was expected to give the Mississippi State kicking game a lift upon his arrival in Starkville, but a broken foot incurred during August two-a-days ended those plans . . . Redshirted his first year on campus . . . Has played in two games for the Bulldogs . . . Considered by one recruiting service as the No. 3 place-kicker in the country coming out of Warren Central High School in Vicksburg (Miss.).
2008:
Played in two games during his redshirt freshman season, the home opener against Southeastern Louisiana and at Tennessee in mid-season . . . Handled the first three kickoffs of Mississippi State’s home-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana, his first collegiate action . . . Handled kickoff duties twice at Tennessee in Week 7.
2007:
Suffered a broken foot during August two-a-day practice and was redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Selected to play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Classic . . . Rated the No. 3 place-kicker prospect in the country by ESPN.com . . . Ranked No. 5 nationally as a kicker/punter combo player by prokicker.com web site . . . Was listed as the No. 10 place-kicker nationally by the same site . . . Ranked among the top 40 players in the state of Mississippi by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger following his senior season, the only place-kicker or punter to make the list . . . Named first-team, all-state for all classifications in Mississippi as a punter by that newspaper . . . Also earned first-team, all-state mention by the Mississippi Association of Coaches as a punter and second-team, all-state as a place-kicker in Class 5A . . . Converted eight-of-12 field goal attempts as a senior for head coach Curtis Brewer at Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, Miss. . . . Had a season-long, 47-yard three-pointer . . . Averaged 45.3 yards per punt on 47 kicks as a senior as well, with 19 of his punts going inside the 20-yard line . . . Had a season-best, 68-yard punt . . . All but three of his kickoffs as a senior (41 of 44) went into the end zone . . . Also a member of the Warren Central High School soccer and golf teams . . .Solid 3.0 grade point average in the high school classroom . . . Committed to MSU in September 2006.
