Saw immediate action after arriving on campus, he developed into the starter at one cornerback position ... Has played in 12 of a possible 13 games for State ... Has earned seve starting calls ... 2007:
Missed just one game (12 of 13) during his first season at Mississippi State . . .Only missed seeing game time in Week 3 at Auburn due to injury ... Earned seven starting assignments at one cornerback position ... Opened State’s Week 4 contest against Gardner-Webb and the final five games of the regular season ... Also started the post-season bowl game ... Made 37 tackles, including one and one-half for loss (minus 7 yards), during his junior campaign ... Moved into a top reserve role in the defensive secondary during pre-season camp, and became Mississippi State’s fifth defensive back in passing situations from the outset of his junior campaign ... Played in nine games during his true freshman season for head coach Rick Rhoades at NCAA Division II school Delta State (Miss.) University ... Made 37 tackles, including four and one-half tackles for loss (minus 22 yards), one of which was a quarterback sack (minus 11 yards) ... Forced one fumble, broke up five passes and had one pass interception for the Statesmen in his lone season at the Cleveland, Miss., institution.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Starred at both quarterback and defensive back for head coach Anthony Hart at Franklin County High School in Meadville, Miss. ... Led his high school team to a 12-2 record and into the Class 3A title game as a senior, after making the switch from running back ... Rushed for 1,479 yards and scored eight touchdowns as a tailback during his junior campaign, helping his team to an 8-3 overall record.
