Pressed into service during the latter stages of his redshirt freshman campaign when regular place-kicker Keith Andrews was sidelined by a leg injury ... Earned the regular kicking job during his second season on campus and has held it ever since ... Has played in 29 games for Mississippi State, serving as the regular kicker 28 times, from the end of his redshirt freshman season on ... Has converted 18-of-29 field goals (.621) and 67-of-68 extra-point kicks ... One of his missed field goals was blocked ... His 18 made field goals are ninth most all-time at State ... His 33 conversions are tied for the fourth most on the school’s all-time single-season list and his 34 attempts are seventh on that chart ... Scored 63 points on the year, the most points scored by a State kicker since Brent Smith tallied 64 points in 2002 ... Also punted twice for a 24-yard average in short-field situations, both of which came to rest inside the 20-yard line ... Two of his 55 kickoffs went for touchback ... Won the starting place-kicking job during preseason camp prior to his sophomore season ... Started all 12 games at the position ... Was two-for-29 on full-field kickoffs for touchback during his sophomore campaign ... Missed his only field-goal attempt against South Carolina to open the season ... Had his lone try blocked against Auburn in Week 2 ... Was three-for-three on extra-point kicks during Week 3 action vs. Tulane ... Was zero-for-three on full field kickoffs against the Green Wave ... Earned first-team, all-state honors by the Mississippi Association of Coaches ... Named second-team, all-state by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger as a punter ... Selected to play in the Mississippi High School all-star game ... Averaged 41.3 yards per punt on 40 kicks during his senior season at Gulfport ... As a place-kicker, he connected on five-of-eight field goal attempts and made 18-of-21 extra point tries ... Was also a part-time quarterback on the prep level ... Did not start playing football until his junior year in high school ... Also played baseball and soccer on the high school level, earning five letters in soccer ... Honor roll student in the high school classroom.
