2008:
Played in all 12 games during his redshirt freshman season, starting twice at an outside linebacker position . . . Earned starting assignments against Georgia Tech and LSU in Weeks 4 and 5 . . . Made 20 tackles, including one and one-half tackles for loss (minus 6 yards) . . . Had a pair of hits at Louisiana Tech in the season opener in Ruston . . . Added one hit a week later in Mississippi State’s home-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana . . . Registered a 5-yard tackle for loss against Auburn in the club’s SEC opener against Auburn . . . Made his first collegiate start at Georgia Tech in Week 4 . . . Had three hits, including a half tackle for loss (minus 1 yard) against the Ramblin’ Wreck . . . Rated No. 28 in the state of Alabama, regardless of position, in SuperPrep Magazine’s season-ending All-America issue, the fourth-best linebacker ranked . . . Credited with running a 4.6-second 40-yard dash by the Rivals.com recruiting web site . . . Named first-team, Class 2A all-state in Alabama at linebacker by the Birmingham News for head coach Larry Boykin at Southern Choctaw High School in Gilbertown, Ala. . . . Recorded 113 total tackles in 11 games during his senior season for the Indians, an average of 10.3 per game . . . Also credited with six quarterback sacks and three fumble recoveries . . .
