Saw immediate action for Mississippi State at defensive end after transferring from junior college ... Pass-rushing abilities came to the forefront on State’s defensive line from the outset of his junior season ... Has played in 11 games for the Bulldogs, serving as a top reserve at defensive end and on special teams ... Has made 21 tackles, including three and one-half tackles for loss (minus 18 yards), two of which were quarterback sacks (minus 10 yards) ... Has forced one fumble and recovered two ... Also credited with one pass batted down at the line of scrimmage ... Outstanding pass rusher at Mississippi Delta Community College following an all-star high school career in the state of South Carolina.
2007:
Played in 11 games during his first season of eligibility with the Bulldogs ... Only missed the Week 8 game at West Virginia and the Week 11 contest at Arkansas ... Totaled 21 tackles on the year, including three and one-half for loss (minus 18 yards), two of which were quarterback sacks (minus 10 yards) ... Recovered a pair of fumbles and caused another ... He was fourth in the SEC in fumbles recovered (.20 per game) ... He also knocked down one pass at the line of scrimmage ... Hampered by a hamstring injury during pre-season camp, his repetitions at defensive end were limited by his inability to get on the practice field ... Nonetheless, he opened the season with a solid performance against LSU ... He had five tackles, including one and one-half tackles for loss (minus 8 yards), one a quarterback sack (minus 8 yards), as a reserve against the Tigers ...
