Still awaiting his first chance to help Mississippi State on the game field . . . Came to State after a solid junior college career.
2006:
After battling injury through the early stages of two-a-day drills in August, he redshirted his first season on the Starkville campus.
JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Credited with running a 4.54 in the 40-yard dash by the Scout.com recruiting website . . . Ranked as the No. 60 junior college player in the country following his sophomore season for head coach Jay Miller at Mississippi Delta Community College, the ninth-best JC receiver on the list, by that website . . . Was named first-team, all-North Division in the Mississippi junior college ranks in 2005 (no all-state team was announced) . . . Selected to play in the state’s junior college all-star game this past December, he made two catches in the contest . . . Caught 10 passes for 390 yards during that sophomore season . . . Other top scholarship offer: Oklahoma State . . . Committed to Mississippi State in December 2005.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Injured during the second game of his senior season at Shaw High School in Mobile, Ala., he missed the remainder of the season with a back injury . . . Played his first two seasons at the prep level for former Mississippi State standout receiver Mardye McDole, who lettered for the Bulldogs from 1977-80.
