CAREER: Speedy defensive end had his first chances to see playing time in the fall of 2009 . . . Also saw a couple of practice weeks at wide receiver . . . Has played in 18 career games on special teams and as a reserve along the defensive line . . . Despite limited high school experience, developed into an outstanding pass rusher on the prep level.
2011: Played in all 13 games, tallying four tackles,1.0 tackle for loss, 1.0 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery . . . Recorded four tackles in a homecoming victory against UT Martin . . . Recorded four tackles and a pass breakup in the final two games, including the win vs. Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
2010: Saw action in the final seven games of his sophomore season . . . Served both on special teams and as a pass-rushing defensive end . . . Posted four tackles on the year with two being quarterback sacks . . . Recorded one sack against Houston and another against Kentucky . . . Also credited with a pass breakup and three quarterback hurries on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Only played high school football during his junior and senior seasons for Head Coach Craig Stump at West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas . . . Credited with running a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and with a 39-inch vertical jump by his high school coach... Started all nine games in which he saw action during his senior season . . . Made 33 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss (minus 46 yards), 3.5 of which were quarterback sacks (minus 31 yards) . . . Forced a pair of fumbles and had one pass deflection during that senior campaign . . . Started five times in the 12 games he played as a junior . . . Had 18 tackles, including 12.0 for loss (minus 55 yards), 7.0 of which were QB sacks (minus 38 yards) . . . Also recovered a fumble in his junior season, his first year playing football on the high school level . . . Also an outstanding basketball player and track athlete, who ran the anchor leg of his high school team’s mile relay . . .
