CAREER:
Has played in 25 games for Mississippi State since arriving on campus, working entirely on special teams during his first season of competition . . . Added reserve duty in the secondary to his resume in his second year, and earned his first starting call at a cornerback position . . . Has made 25 tackles, one pass interception and a pass deflection during his MState career . . . Came to Starkville as a standout, two-way threat who helped his high school team to a state championship in the Texas prep ranks.
2008:
Played in eight of a possible 12 games during the ’08 campaign . . . Did not play in back-to-back games (Weeks 7-8) against Tennessee and Middle Tennessee, and in the final two games of the year against Arkansas and Ole Miss . . . Made 12 total tackles and a pass deflection as a reserve in the secondary and on special teams . . . Registered two tackles and a pass deflection in the season opener at Louisiana Tech . . . Also credited with a blocked extra-point kick in Ruston . . . Again made a pair of stops in Mississippi State’s win over Southeastern Louisiana in the team’s home opener . . . Registered four tackles and was credited with a partially blocked punt against Auburn in State’s SEC opener . . . It was his second blocked kick of the season, and the second blocked punt by a Bulldog since Clarence McDougal blocked an Ole Miss punt in 2005 . . . Had a pair of tackles one week later at Georgia Tech . . . Had a pair of tackles at LSU in Week 5.
2007:
Played in eight games during his sophomore season, earning one start at cornerback . . . Only missed playing time due to injury . . . Played in the season’s first five weeks, winning a starting call during Week 4 action vs. Gardner-Webb, in the season’s final two games and in the post-season bowl game . . . Made the move full-time to the secondary during spring practice and moved onto the two-deep at cornerback during pre-season camp . . . Recorded a pair of tackles in Mississippi State’s Week 2 38-17 win at Tulane . . . Earned his first collegiate start during State’s Week 4 win over Gardner-Webb . . . Totaled three tackles against the Runnin’ Bulldogs . . . Suffered a knee injury during Week 5 action at South Carolina . . . Underwent exploratory arthroscopic surgery and did not return to the playing field until Week 11 . . . Relegated to special teams work only against Arkansas when he did return . . . Returned to full speed for State’s 17-14 win over Ole Miss in the Battle For The Golden Egg and was pressed into substantial service when regular cornerback Anthony Johnson suffered a broken bone in his lower leg . . . 2006:
Saw action from the outset of his redshirt freshman season . . . Played in nine games during his redshirt freshman campaign, only missing action in Week 2 vs. Auburn and in the season-ending contest at Ole Miss.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Started at both cornerback and wide receiver in high school . . . Ranked as the No. 28 prospect in East Texas, the fifth-best defensive back, by the Smoaky.com recruiting web site . . . Named first-team all-East Texas at wide receiver by the Texas Prep-Xtra.com web site . . . Credited with running a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash by the Rivals.com recruiting web site . . . Led coach Jeff Traylor’s Gilmer (Texas) Buckeyes to a 16-0 record and the Texas Class 3A Division II state championship as a senior . . . Had 47 receptions for 1,119 yards, a 23.3-yard per catch average, and 12 touchdowns during his senior campaign . . . Caught four passes for 122 yards and the game-winning 65-yard touchdown in the state title-winning 49-47 win over Jasper . . . Made four catches for 170 yards and a pair of scores (68 and 74 yards) in the team’s quarterfinal victory . . . Also a key member of a Gilmer defense which ranked No. 1 in its class in total defense and scoring defense . . . Although he did not start as a junior, he earned honorable mention all-district honors . . . Recorded 23 tackles in the defensive backfield during his junior campaign . . . Also a high jumper at the high school level, he has cleared 6-7 in that event, according to his coach . . . Also a member of Gilmer’s 4x400 relay team.
