Pressed into immediate service upon his arrival on the Mississippi State campus from the Louisiana prep ranks . . . Limited by injury during his first season at State . . . Has played in 23 games (out of possible 25) during his MSU career . . . Has earned one starting assignment . . . 2008:
Played in all 12 games during his sophomore season as a reserve on the defensive line . . . Recorded eight tackles on the year, including two and one-half for loss (minus 4 yards), one and one-half of which was a quarterback sack (minus 3 yards) . . . Registered at least one hit in eight of those 12 games . . . Had one hit in Mississippi State’s season opener at Louisiana Tech . . . Registered a 2-yard quarterback sack, the first of his career, in the Bulldogs’ home-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana . . . Had one hit in State’s SEC opener vs. Auburn . . . Played in 11 of a possible 13 games during his true freshman season at Mississippi State (includes the bowl game) . . . Only missed seeing game action in back-to-back games at mid-season vs. UAB and Tennessee due to injury . . . Earned his first collegiate start, the only one of his initial season on campus, in Mississippi State’s Week 4 win over Gardner-Webb . . . Registered one tackle each in Week 2 vs. Tulane and at Arkansas in the next-to-last game of the regular season . . . Lost valuable development time during the middle of his freshman season with plantar fasciitis, an injury that held him out of two games and limited him in others.
