CAREER:
Pressed into immediate service in the Mississippi State linebacking corps, in part because of injury but also due to his rapid development on the field . . . Has played in eight games during his Bulldog career, and has started twice . . . Has made 15 tackles in his still young career, including one for loss, a quarterback sack (minus 1 yard) . . . Selected to play in the Mississippi-Alabama High School All-Star game following his prep career.
2008:
Played in all but four games (eight of 12) during his true freshman season, starting twice at a linebacker position . . . Did not see action at LSU, vs. Vanderbilt and at Tennessee (Weeks 5-7) and in the season finale at Ole Miss . . . Opened the Week 10 Alabama and Week 11 Arkansas games . . . Registered 15 tackles on the season, including one for loss, a quarterback sack (minus 1 yard) . . . Saw the first substantial action of his collegiate career at Georgia Tech in Week 4 . . . Made three tackles against the Ramblin’ Wreck, a total that includes a 1-yard quarterback sack, the first of his collegiate career . . . Added a tackle in the team’s homecoming win over Middle Tennessee . . . Had a pair of tackles in Week 9 contest with Kentucky . . . Earned his first collegiate start (weakside linebacker), and tied for third on the club with seven tackles at Alabama one week later . . . Had a pair of tackles in Week 11 win over Arkansas.

Selected to play in the Mississippi/Alabama High School all-star game as a linebacker. . . Considered the No. 38 outside linebacker prospect in the nation by ESPN.com in its post-season listing . . . Rated the No. 46 inside linebacker prospect in the country by recruiting web site Scout.com . . . .Named to the Super All-Metro Birmingham first-team at linebacker following his senior season by the Birmingham News . . . Selected first-team Class 5A all-state at linebacker by the Alabama Sports Writers Association . . . Rated No. 28 on SuperPrep’s post-season All-America listing of the state of Alabama’s top players, the state’s top inside linebacker prospect . . . Ran a 4.46 40-yard dash, jumped 36 inches in the vertical leap, and bench pressed 370 pounds at his high school camp prior to his senior season for head coach Fred Yancey at Briarwood Christian High School . . . Helped lead Briarwood Christian to a 32-7 record during his final three seasons of high school football . . . Made 133 tackles, including four tackles for loss, during his senior campaign, leading his team to the state title game . . . Also had two pass deflections . . . Played outside linebacker as a junior for the Lions . . . Started his high school playing career at Shelby County and Sylacauga High Schools . . .
