STARKVILLE, Miss. - Runs were at a premium on Wednesday evening at Dudy Noble Field, as Maroon and Gray tied, 1-1, in Mississippi State's 14th fall baseball scrimmage.
Both teams relied on stout pitching performances throughout the outing to keep their teams in the game.
Gray got on the board first in the top of the second with a two-out RBI triple by junior Hayden Marze that scored sophomore Cole Gordon.
Maroon knotted it up in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double by senior Josh Lovelady.
Junior Logan Elliot struck out a game-high 3 batters in his inning of relief.
MSU will return to the field Friday at 4 p.m. to open a three-scrimmage weekend. Admission is free to all fall scrimmages and first pitch times will be announced on social media.
