Starkville Set To Host NCAA Regional

STARKVILLE – For the 16th time in history, one of the roads to Omaha will run through Starkville.
Dudy Noble Field – which was recently named the No. 1 college baseball stadium by USA Today – was selected as one of 16 host sites for the NCAA Tournament. The Starkville Regional will be held Friday, May 29 through Monday, June 1 (if necessary).
Mississippi State enters the postseason at 40-17 and the No. 12 RPI in the country. The Diamond Dawgs will learn which three opponents will join them for the Starkville Regional during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
MSU will be making its third consecutive trip to a regional and 42nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The last time the Bulldogs hosted a regional at home was 2021 and ultimately took the program to its first ever national championship.
It is State's 36th NCAA Regional selection and have 16 regional titles to its credit. The Diamond Dawgs are 91-47 all-time in regional action and reached the finals of the Tallahassee Regional last season.
First-year Mississippi State skipper Brian O'Connor reaches the NCAA Tournament for the 19th time in his head coaching career.
