Appeared in 10 games as a sophomore, drawing starts in five of his final six games • Posted an 0-2 record with a 10.80 earned run average with 20 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched • Tossed 2-2/3 innings of scoreless relief against South Alabama (Mar. 25) in his longest relief stint of the campaign • Drew his first career SEC start three days later with 1-1/3 innings pitched against Georgia (Mar. 28) • Worked a season-best 5.0 innings in a no-decision start against Ole Miss in MSU's win in the inaugural Governor's Cup (Apr. 15) in Pearl, Miss. • Absorbed losses in his final two outings, midweek starts against Southern Miss (Apr. 22) and Middle Tennessee State (May 6) • Posted a 3.00 ERA with no decisions in two SEC appearances and a .540 ERA in appearances out of the bullpen • Among 23 Bulldogs named to the 2008 SEC Baseball Academic Honor Roll • During the summer pitched for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (2-0, 2.43 ERA) in the Alaska Collegiate League.
2007:
Took the mound for 11 games, drawing 10 midweek starts and making one relief appearance • Compiled a 5-1 record with a 5.72 earned run average, tallying 43 strikeouts in 45-2/3 innings • Made his collegiate debut and earned his first career win with a five-inning start against Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 27) • Earned other midweek wins against UL-Monroe (Apr. 3), South Alabama (Apr. 11), Governor's Cup opponent Ole Miss (Apr. 17) and Southern Miss (Apr. 24) • Yielded eight runs and absorbed his lone loss in an 11-8 setback at Dallas Baptist (Mar. 14) • Pitched six innings and registered a season-high eight strikeouts in the wins against South Alabama and Southern Miss • Worked a season-longest seven innings and struck out seven in a solid no-decision start at Austin Peay (May 8) • Logged 1.1 innings of scoreless one-hit relief against Louisville (June 17) in the NCAA College World Series • Among five Baseball Bulldog rookies named to the 2007 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
