CAREER:
Co-starred behind the plate as a junior, splitting starts with another junior catcher, Cody Freeman • Lone Bulldog from Louisiana and one of three State players that advanced their baseball careers at Meridian Community College.
2010:
Appeared in 40 games, making 30 starts behind the dish • Hit .225 with a double, four home runs and 17 runs batted in • Shared starting duty with Cody Freeman • Made his Mississippi State debut as the opening day starter against Rhode Island (Feb. 19) • Collected a pair of singles, drew a walk and scored three runs in a 3-for-4 showing • Registered five multiple-hit games, including season-best three-hit plate performances at Alabama (Apr. 25) and at LSU (May 20) • Delivered his fourth two-RBI game on the final weekend in a series-opening game against defending NCAA champion LSU (May 20) • Strung together season-best five-game hitting and RBI streaks (March 17-28) • Launched four home runs, all against SEC competition and two during a 3-for-7 series at Florida • Charged with one error and compiled a .996 fielding percentage to rank among the SEC's top fielding receivers • Threw out 10 opponent baserunners attempting stolen bases • Team's third-best batting average (.455) in 10 games as a non-starter • Hit .263 and played error-free defense in 17 SEC starts (20 SEC games played).

Two-year catching standout at Meridian (Miss.)
