HIGH SCHOOL:
Three-sport athlete and three-year baseball standout playing at Meridian High School • Coached by Chuck Butler • Two-time all-district performer as a middle infielder at MHS • Hit .405 with 45 RBI, 18 extra-base hits and 15 stolen bases in 18 attempts as a senior in 2009 • Served as captain of the '09 Wildcats team • Tabbed his team's offensive player of the year as a junior after pacing Meridian in 2008 with a .425 batting average and 40 RBI • Also played soccer two seasons, earning district player of the year and Mississippi High School All-Star status • Two-year starter as a wide receiver on the MHS football team in 2007 and 2008 • Honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society.
