2013:
SEC Academic Honor Roll · In 2013, played sparingly, just 13 games with four of those being starts · Hit .263 in 19 at-bats, driving in 4 runs while scoring 6 · Went 1 for 2 with an RBI against Saint Joseph’s on both March 1 and 2 · 1 for 2 on Opening Day (February 15) against Portland, driving in a run.
2012:
Among seven Bulldog rookies to see playing time in 2012 • Earned his initial varsity letter after playing in 35 games, and drawing 27 starts in the outfield - 23 in left field and four in right field • Hit .215 in 93 at-bats • Set for a freshman redshirt campaign until injuries beset MSU's outfielding corps • Recalled from spring break trip home to Tennessee in mid-March to join team for its first road trip in mid-March • Made his MSU debut with a start in left field at Southeastern Louisiana (Mar. 13) • Singled in his second career plate-appearance and went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles the next day against the Lions (Mar. 14) • Went 7-for-17 on the five-game road trip to SLU and LSU • Also registered two-hit games against Ole Miss (Apr. 17) in the Mayor's Trophy Game and in the series-opener at Alabama (May 4) • Played in 24 of 30 SEC games (19 as a starter) with a .152 batting average • Among seven MSU rookies named to the 2012 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll • Hit .299 with 18 extra-base hits playing summer league baseball for the Danville (Ill.) Dans in the Prospect League.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Four-year starter as an infielder and outfielder at Murfreesboro Siegel High School • Coached by Craig Reavis • Accorded first-team all-state honors as a senior after leading the Stars with a .500 batting average, 31 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 2011 • Starred in center field, earning Murfreesboro Daily News Journal Position Player of the Year honors • Paced SHS with 40 hits, 31 RBI, nine doubles, six triples and seven home runs • Three-time all-area and all-district performer, leading his team as a junior in 2010 with a .351 batting average, 27 extra-base hits and 21 stolen bases and as a sophomore in 2009 with a .414 batting average, 50 hits, 20 extra-base hits and 17 stolen bases • Played summer league baseball with the Nashville Yankees, coached by Mike Allen and Steve Ashcraft and with the Murfreesboro Diamond Dawgs, coached by Terry Fann • Two-year member of the bowling team and a member of the Beta Club and the Spanish Club at SHS.
