Saw playing time as a pitcher, outfielder, catcher and designated hitter/pinch hitter in 20 rookie season games played with five starts • Hit .154 with two RBI in 26 at-bats and finished with a 9.64 ERA in 4.2 innings of mound duty • Made his debut as a pinch hitter and in right field in MSU's season-opener against Akron (Feb. 18) • Tossed an inning of scoreless relief the next day against Akron (Feb. 19) • Drew a bases-loaded walk and later scored his first career run in MSU's win over Alabama A&M (Mar. 30) • Made his debut as a starter (DH) against Alabama (May 1) and lashed a double for his first career hit in a start (DH) at Tennessee (May 7) • Also hit safely in his next three games (all starts) • Drew his first defensive start in left field at Tennessee (May 8) • Hit .200 in seven SEC games played (four hits) and made four relief appearances (2.2 innings) against league foes • Enjoyed a stellar season of summer league baseball with the Bethesda (Md.)
