Bulldogs Conclude Action In North Carolina, Texas

AUSTIN, Texas/SAN MARCOS, Texas/RALEIGH, N.C. – A strong finish to the adidas Raleigh Relays was the story for Mississippi State track and field on Saturday, as the Bulldogs concluded competition there and at the Bobcat Invitational and Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
MSU saw top-five finishes from both of its women's 800m runners as well as its men's 4x1500m relay squad in Raleigh, while eight Bulldogs posted season-best marks in Texas. In total on the weekend, eight MSU athletes achieved personal bests.
"Overall, I'm pleased with how we competed this weekend in all three meets," interim head coach Chris Woods said. "We had some great individual performances this weekend that helped add to our list of potential regional qualifiers, and that's pleasing. I'm happy with how we did in the field events, as well as with how well we ran in North Carolina. Moving forward, it's going to be important for us to come together as a team and continue to push one another. With each meet, our competition is going to get more challenging, we just have to stay focused and keep striving toward the goals we set as a team. If we do that, good things are going to happen."
The 4x1500m relay team of Stephen Jones, Lake Spradling, Giacomo DeLuca and Caden Foos finished second in a deep field at the Raleigh Relays, running a time of 15:47.53 that ranks third in MSU outdoor history.
Chandler Underwood ran 30:45.23 in the men's 10,000m on Saturday, while JT Mackay clocked a time of 3:19.51.
In the men's 4x200m relay invitational, the MSU team of Okheme Moore, Terryon Conwell, Karson Kowalchuk and Cameron Crump clocked a time of 1:24.06 to place third among collegiate teams. MSU closed out the day in the 4x400m relay invitational, with Rasheed Tatham, Cameron Crump, Charles Brockman III and Malcum Tatum running 3:16.66.
Tillman also threw the javelin for the Bulldogs on Saturday, tossing the implement 30.48m (100-0.0).
Alicia Viveros posted a solid day in the shot put, matching her personal-best with a throw of 14.41m (47-3.5) on Saturday in a seventh-place finish.
In the men's 800m, Daniel Nixon placed second with a time of 1:52.18 while Freddie Jackson III ran 1:55.85.
The Bulldogs will be back in action April 12-13 at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Alon Lewis added another top-5 mark in the MSU outdoor record books to her name, running a personal-best 2:06.09 to win the women's 800m. That time ranks fourth in MSU outdoor history. Charlotte Cayton-Smith placed fourth in the event, running a personal-best 2:07.71.The 4x1500m relay team of Stephen Jones, Lake Spradling, Giacomo DeLuca and Caden Foos finished second in a deep field at the Raleigh Relays, running a time of 15:47.53 that ranks third in MSU outdoor history.

To start off the day, Logan Boss tied for second in the women's high jump, clearing a season-best 1.77m (5-9.75), while Asia Poe posted a mark of 5.76m (18-10.75) in the long jump.In the men's 4x200m relay invitational, the MSU team of Okheme Moore, Terryon Conwell, Karson Kowalchuk and Cameron Crump clocked a time of 1:24.06 to place third among collegiate teams. Bobcat Invitational – San Marcos, Texas
After achieving a personal-best mark in the triple jump and running a season-best 13.56 in the 100m hurdles at Texas Relays on Friday, Tiffany Flynn returned to action in the 100m hurdles at Texas State, placing second with a time of 13.61. Zaria Tillman finished 10th in the event, running 14.15.Tillman also threw the javelin for the Bulldogs on Saturday, tossing the implement 30.48m (100-0.0).
