
Thrower Earns Bronze At USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Mississippi State's trio of freshmen concluded the USATF U20 Championships on Friday evening.
Jayden Thrower kicked off the day in the men's triple jump. In the field of 15 athletes, Thrower posted a massive second-round mark of 15.85m for a new personal best, extending his program freshman record. His jump was far enough to earn him a third-place finish for bronze.
De'Kayla Simpson raced in the 400m final, crossing in the line in 52.00 for fifth place. Camryn Merryman concluded the day in the 800m, finishing sixth with a 2:05.12 effort.
The Bulldogs will now advance to the postseason, with athletes competing in their respective home national championships around the world this summer.
