STATESBORO, Ga. – Mississippi State continued its hot play Saturday, as seniors Taylor Bibbs and Taylor Grant remain in the Top 5 following the second round of the Schenkel Invitational.
State now shares third place on the leaderboard after shooting 8-under behind 68s from the senior duo.
"The guys hung tough out there today," MSU men's golf coach Dusty Smith said. "We got off to a solid start and had some momentum early in the round. Our seniors stepped up again in a big way and were able to finish strong down the stretch."
"Again, the irons and wedges were very dialed in today, which gave me some good looks and I was able to make a few of them," Bibbs said.
Bibbs now sits just one stroke back of the lead in a tie for second at 8-under, and leads the field with 15 birdies.
Grant is alone in fifth at 7-under, and finished the day strong with a three-stroke eagle on the par-5 18th hole.
"It was a fun day today," Grant said. "We all had some swag and fed off of each other's momentum. We are excited to be in a good position for the final round."
Sophomore Garrett Johnson contributed to the Bulldog cause with a 1-under 71.
Sophomore Peng Pichaikool and freshman Cameron Clarke had identical rounds for the second-straight day, 1-over 73s, and are tied for 54th.
Vanderbilt's Theo Humphrey has shot 9-under through the two rounds to remain atop the player leaderboard as the Commodores lead all teams at 23-under.
Tee time for the first group in Sunday's final round is set for 7:30 a.m. CT, but the Bulldogs will tee off at 9 a.m., with live scoring available through Golfstat.

"The guys hung tough out there today. We got off to a solid start and had some momentum early in the round. Our seniors stepped up again in a big way and were able to finish strong down the stretch. Garrett was very solid all day and gave us a round that we needed. We need to continue to clean up the simple mistakes. We need to be the most disciplined and the toughest team out there in order for us to be the best version of us tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a great opportunity and a chance for us to grow as a team."
Senior Taylor Bibbs:
