Bulldogs Fall to ULM in Game One

STARKVILLE – Playing their first midweek games of the season, the Mississippi State baseball team (2-2) hosted ULM (3-1) at Dudy Noble Field. The Warhawks' pitching cooled off the Dawgs' offense, and MSU was defeated 11-5 to open the two-game set.
Bradley Loftin drew the start and was charged the loss after four innings of work. Loftin struck out a career-high eight batters, allowing only two hits and one unearned run in the contest. Tyson Hardin, Tyler Davis, Evan Siary, and Brock Tapper all saw action from the mound in relief.
Luke Hancock put the Dawgs on the board in the seventh with a two-run shot to right field, his first homer of the year. Six different Diamond Dawgs collected a hit in the contest, while Hancock and Bryce Chance led the team with two RBIs a piece.
The Dawgs and Warhawks will return to action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. from Dudy Noble Field. The game will be broadcasted on SECN+.

ULM scored the first run of the game when Riley Davis singled to center to score Artzberger.

A two-run homer from Michelle Artzberger extended the lead to three. With runners on the corner, Jake Haggard singled to left to push another run across plate.

Artzberger hit a three-run homer to add to the Warhawk lead. Washburn scored on a Davis double to add another.

Kade Dupont doubled down the left field line, scoring Jones from second. Travis Washburn doubled to score Dupont, and then scored on a two-base error.
