Dawgs Earn Series Split with ULM

Jurrangelo Cijtje made his first start as a Dawg and had seven Ks
MSU took the lead early with a Bryce Chance RBI that scored Luke Hancock. Chance filled the stat sheet, having at least one run, hit, RBI, and walk. The Diamond Dawg bats came to life in the bottom of the fourth as Ross Highfill drove a double to left field which scored two runs. Ledbetter smoked a two-run home run to right field, and Amani Larry also had an RBI to close it out.
Jurrangelo Cijntje had an impressive day as he drew the start for State. He pitched four innings worth of work and struck out seven batters out of 15 batters faced. This is Cijntje's second win on the season. After Cijntje, a combination of five pitchers saw action, each going an inning a piece. Will Gibbs tallied four strikeouts in the eighth and ninth innings.
The Diamond Dawgs are back in action Friday to continue the eight game homestand when they host Arizona State. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the SECN+.

With runners on first and second, Ross Highfill drove a double to left field that scored Bryce Chance and Hunter Hines. With Highfill on third, Amani Larry hit a sac fly to left field to score him. Ledbetter then hit a two run home run to right field.

With one on, Alford hit a two-run home run to left center.

With the bases loaded, Ledbetter singled to right center which scored two. With runners on the corners, Dakota Jordan hit a three-run home run to center field. Connor Hujsak doubled to center field which scored one.

Meche scored on a wild pitch. Travis Washburn singled to center which scored one. Thibodaux hit a sacrifice fly to right center to score another.
