BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A pair of All-Americans led the way for Mississippi State at the 2018 Blazer Invite on Friday, as Rhianwedd Price and Logan Boss each tasted their first bit of success of the 2018 season.

The All-American Price continued her dominance on the track by taking the 1,000 meter run at a pace of 2:47.82--winning by more than five seconds and shattering the previous record by nearly six full seconds at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

In the men's distance medley relay, the Bulldogs ran a meet-record 10:10.86 en route to winning the event.

All-American Logan Boss had a solid afternoon in her first action of the spring, placing second in the women's high jump.

Sprinter Lawrence Crawford started off his indoor season on a good note, finishing second in the men's 60-meter dash.

Brianna Smith took runner-up honors in the women's weight throw.

In addition to the veterans, 10 new Bulldogs were able to showcase their abilities on Friday.

State will continue action in Birmingham on Saturday, competing in the Vulcan Invitational, hosted by UAB. The event will begin at 8 a.m., with the Bulldogs resuming action at 9 a.m.

After this weekend, the Bulldogs are back in action at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville.
