STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following the conclusion of the 2017 season, 16 current and four future Mississippi State Bulldogs continued their growth and development by participating in summer baseball leagues across the country. 19 Diamond Dawgs spanned eight leagues and 12 teams.

Jake Mangum, Dustin Skelton, Hunter Vansau and Elijah MacNamee all participated in their respective league's All Star game.
Hunter Vansau led the Victoria HarbourCats in home runs (8) and runs batted in (33) while batting .359 in the West Coast League.
Jake Mangum led the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in batting, collecting 36 hits over 27 games for a .319 clip, while stealing a team-high 11 bases.
Elijah MacNamee hit .315 while collecting eight doubles, three homers and 24 RBIs to help the Matsu Miners clinch the Alaska Baseball League Championship.
In 28 games, Dustin Skelton batted .318 and drove in 17 runners for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Cllegiate Baseball League.
Jacob Bilingsley was the recipient of the George Lane Sportsmanship Award in the Cape Cod League.
In 44 games for the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League, Alex Pener -- getting ready to begin his first semester at Mississippi State in the fall -- grabbed 44 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs and 17 RBIs.
Another new face in Starkville this fall, Marshall Gilbert batted.376, while hitting 10 doubles and four home runs, and collecting 38 RBIs.
