STARKVILLE, Miss. – 16 current and four future Mississippi State Bulldogs are continuing their growth and development by participating in summer baseball leagues across the country. The 20 Diamond Dawgs span nine leagues and 13 teams.

After being named the West Coast League Player of the Week last week, Hunter Vansau most recently played in the West Coast League All-Star Game and also participated in the WCL Home Run Derby on Monday. On the summer, Vansau is hitting .400 (24-for-60) with three doubles, one triple, five home runs, 23 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
Konnor Pilkington's summer with the USA Collegiate National Team is now complete as he finished with a 2.65 ERA in five appearances and four starts over 17.0 innings pitched. Pilkington struck out 12 and held opponents to a .183 batting average.
Jake Mangum has been named a Cape Cod League All-Star and will represent Hyannis for the West Division team on Saturday, July 22. Mangum boasts a team-best .377 batting average and has posted 10 multi-hit games in just 23 games thus far this summer.
On Sunday, Elijah MacNamee represented the Mat-Su Miners in the Alaska Baseball League All-Star Game.
Playing in the Northwoods League, Tanner Poole discussed his summer thus far and his first season on the field at MSU.
Future Diamond Dawg Marshall Gilbert was named the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week as from July 10-16, he batted .524 with 11 hits, 12 RBIs and nine runs. Gilbert's RBIs paced all players in the PGCBL over the course of the past week, while he was tied for first in home runs (2) and tied for second in runs scored. Among players with at least 20 plate appearances, Gilbert ranked second in both slugging percentage (.905) and OPS (1.461).
