2017: Contributed significantly in 57 games as a redshirt junior • Didn’t record a single error in his first season as a Diamond Dawg • Tallied 37 hits and 14 RBIs • Went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs in his first MSU start vs. Western Illinois on Feb. 18 • Hit his first career home run on Feb. 21 against Morehead State • Went 2 for 3 with a homer against Columbia on March 13 • Hit homers in two straight days from March 13-14 • Hit an RBI single against Kentucky on April 8 • Went 2 for 3 with a double vs. MVSU on April 11 • Hit 7 for 13 (.538) in the series vs. Alabama (April 20-21) • Went 2 for 4 with a double on May 6 at Texas A&M • Played for the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League over the summer with MSU teammate Alex Pener.
2016: Did not see any game action while redshirting during his first year with the program.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Hit .378 in the leadoff spot as a sophomore with 46 runs, 39 RBIs, 12 doubles, six home runs and four triples • Also stole 26 bases to finish in the top 20 nationally • Recorded 71 putouts and finished with a .986 fielding percentage • Named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State team both seasons • Earned 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 honors as a sophomore • Hit .350 in 2014 as a freshman • Played summer ball in 2015 for the Piedmont Pride of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League • Named a SCBL All-Star, going 2 for 5 in the exhibition with a run scored • Led the SCBL in hits (49), average (.371), runs scored (37), stolen bases (25) and at-bats (132) • Ranked third in the league with six doubles • Also tallied six walks, four triples and a home run in 38 games played • Named SCBL Co-Player of the Week July 6, 2015 after going 13 for 23 in the previous seven days with eight RBIs, two stolen bases, two triples, a double and a home run.
HIGH SCHOOL: Batted .306 with a .425 on-base percentage, 12 RBIs, 21 runs, seven doubles, a home run and 14 stolen bases • Also went 6-2 on the mound with 70 strikeouts and a 0.96 ERA in 12 appearances • Led Panthers to Division 1-4A title • Earned all-division and division MVP honors while being a starter on the Panthers’ 2010 North State Championship and 2011 North State runner-up teams.
