GAME NOTES Watch on the SEC Network

FAYETTEVILLE - With the only game of the week being on the road, Mississippi State (9-14, 0-8 SEC) travels to Arkansas (14-6, 7-1 SEC) for a Sunday matchup.

The game will air on the SEC Network at noon CT, with Courtney Lyle and Jenny Hazelwood calling the game. Fans can also access the match via the WatchESPN app.

"I look forward to getting to the gym every single day with this group," third-year coach David McFatrich said. "We're going to continue to work hard, continue to iron out the wrinkles and continue to chase great."

Setting The Scene…
After the 3-0 loss at both Missouri and Georgia, MSU travels to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas Sunday on the SEC Network.

This will be the 23rd meeting between the two in Fayetteville, and the 46th in series history. Arkansas holds a 40-5 advantage in the series, including a 21-1 mark in Fayetteville.

Scouting The Arkansas Razorbacks ...
Halfway through SEC play, Arkansas is 4-4. Its notable conference wins come from sweeps against Tennessee (25-17, 25-19, 25-21), South Carolina (25-19, 25-15, 25-14) and Texas A&M (25-20, 25-17, 26-24). Arkansas took No. 3 Florida to five sets before losing (22-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 13-15).

Okiana Valle and Pilar Victoria lead the way for the Razorbacks on the stat sheets. Valle has 81 assists, 17 service aces and 271 digs on the season. Victoria has 440 kills, 24 assists, 221 digs and 487.5 points.

Senior Payton Harris eclipsed the 1,000 digs mark for her career last season. On Oct. 1, 2017, against No. 10 Kentucky, she achieved the school record and now has 1,741. THe old mark of 1,707 was held by Melissa Kariker (1993-1996). She missed the game at Missouri due to an injury.

Lehto Chasing The Freshman Assists Record Book ...
Freshman Carina Lehto has been credited with 156 assists this season, the ninth most for a MSU freshman. She is 38 away from tying the eighth spot (Grace Hoyt).

Gray Sets Her Eyes On Total Blocks Record Book ...
Freshman Laura Rose Gray has been credited with 66 total blocks this season. She currently holds the ninth spot for most total blocks as a freshman and is one shy from eighth place (Erin Seago).

Swing, Sara, Swing!
Sara Maddox completed her first collegiate game at SMU with a career-high 25 kills. Currently, she has 192 kills and 207.0 points.

Jelena Vujcin Shines On The Stat Charts
Jelena Vujcin leads the team in three categories: kills (283), kills per set (3.49) and points (332.0).
Zgunda can "dig it"
Freshman Gabby Zgunda currently leads the team with 234 digs this season and had a season-high 26 against Rice on August 26.

MSU Prepares for Back-To-Back Matches At Home …
After Sunday's match against Arkansas, the Bulldogs are back home for both weekend matches. On Friday, Oct. 27, the game will air at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network against Alabama. On Sunday, Oct. 29, No. 4 Florida arrives in Starkville. First serve is set for 12 p.m. on the SEC Network +.
