Awards/Recognitions: Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Season: Played in three events, once as an individual… Competed at Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links to open MSU’s season. Carmel Cup (8/31-9/2/18): Posted a final round 2-under 70… Tallied eight birdies. TVA Community Credit Union Invitational (10/15-16/18): Carded a 1-under 71 in the second round.
Non-MSU events: In July, finished seventh at the Trustmark Invitational.
2017-18 FRESHMAN SEASON
Awards/Recognitions: Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Season: Competed in two tournaments, both times as an individual... Made collegiate debut at USA Individual tournament in February... Finished in the top 20 at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in April... Traveled with team to NCAA Regional as a substitute. Old Waverly Collegiate Championship (4/16-17/18): Tied for 16th… Shot a season-best even 72 in the final round.
PRIOR TO MSU
Prepped at Oak Grove High School where he achieved a 4.0 GPA… Won state championship as an eighth grader and high school freshman and sophomore years… T-2nd with Bulldog teammate Benjamin Nelson at state championship… Won six of nine tournaments senior year… In August 2016, won Canebrake Club Championship… Finished seventh at 2016 AJGA David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior… Grabbed another seventh-place finish at AJGA Killington Junior Golf Championship… To round out junior season, placed fourth at Junior PGA Championship Section Qualifier.

Born Hunter James Hammett on April 7, 1999… Son of Michael and Christy Hammett… Two sisters, Alex and Addison… Also enjoys fishing… Favorite golfer is Tiger Woods… Major is Pre-Medical Studies with a concentration in Biochemistry.
