Season: Made 22 appearances with 21 starts, 20 at shortstop and one at second base … Ended the season with a .258 batting average … Picked up 17 hits and 13 RBIs. Made his collegiate debut on February 16 when he started at shortstop in the season opener … Collected his first hit as a Diamond Dawg on February 20 against Austin Peay … Had two multi-hit games …. Had a season best four game hitting streak.
Air Force (2/16-18): Scored a run and drew a career-high three walks. Austin Peay (2/20-21): Grabbed a pair of hits and an RBI in the matchup. Georgia Southern (2/23-25): Went 2-for-6 in the series and drove in a pair of runs. Jackson State (2/27): Picked up first double of collegiate career … Ended the midweek contest 2-for-4 at the plate. Mount St. Mary’s (2/29-3/2): Totaled five RBIs on the weekend … Added a double and two hits to the box score. Southern Miss (3/5): Scored a run in three plate appearances. Played at Cedartown in Georgia under coach Gevin Johnson … Played on varsity all four years, helping his team reach the Quarterfinals as a sophomore and the Semifinals as a junior … Earned All-State selections all four years, and also earned Player of the Year honors as a sophomore and as a senior … Was a .370 or better hitter all four years, and had a .550 batting average his senior season … His club team, the East Cobb Astros, was the best club team in the country two years in a row under coach Kevin Baldwin … Was also in the top 10 of his class in high school.
