Played for Briarcrest Christian High School in Eads, Tenn. under coach Craig Hopkins … Helped his team earn a State Championship title in 2024 … In his junior year, he was named First Team All-Region … Earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Metro and First Team All-Region honors in his senior year… Pitched 43 innings with a 4-2 record, 62 punchouts and a 1.30 ERA in his junior year … In his senior year, he pitched 44 innings with a 5-1 record, 73 strikeouts, a 1.27 ERA and held opponents to a .097 batting average.

Full name is John Michael Gleason … Born July 24, 2005, in Germantown, Tenn. … Son of Gary and Brooke Gleason … He has one brother, Andrew and one sister, Grace … Also played football in high school, and during the 2023-24 season was named All-State Punter as well as All-Region Receiver … He was also named School-Wide Athlete of the Year during his time at Briarcrest Christian High School … His father Gary Gleason played football at Mississippi State … His grandmother was the first woman honored with the Ms. MSU title.
