2007:
Played in 55 of MSU’s 60 games and drew 51 starts (38 at shortstop, 12 at second base and one as a designated hitter) ? Compiled a .399 batting average, second-highest in the Southeastern Conference and 10th-highest in school history ? Named to the NCBWA’s second-team Pro-Line Athletics All-American team as well as Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger, Baseball American, and Rivals.com Freshman All-American teams ? Ranked third on the team with 83 hits and 48 RBI ? Tallied a staff-best 29 multiple-hit games with hits in 44 of his 55 games played ? Registered eight games with three hits and a season-best four-hit performance in a 4-for-5, 3-RBI game against UAB (Mar. 6) ? Made his collegiate debut and doubled in a run in his second-career at-bat in MSU’s season-opener against Murray State (Feb. 23) ? Went 6-for-12 with five RBI in the Murray State series (Feb. 23-25) ? Compiled 12-game and 18-game hitting streaks before sustaining a late-April hamstring injury during the series at Mississippi ? Missed five games and nine starts after the injury ? Belted three home runs, the first a grand slam against Memphis (Mar. 27) ? Four-year standout and two-year all-state performer as a middle infielder playing at Cleveland’s Walker Valley High School ? Coached by his father, Mike Turner ? Compiled a .476 career batting average with 177 RBI, 23 career home runs and 73 stolen bases ? Named to the 2005 Louisville Slugger High School All-American team ? Paced the Mustangs with a .536 batting average, 52 hits, 51 RBI, six home runs and 23 stolen bases as a senior ?
