Cross Country Set To Close Regular Season In Missouri
October 16, 2025 | Cross Country
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mississippi State cross country will compete in the final regular season race at the Pre-National Invite on Friday morning.
Initially scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, the race was moved a day earlier due to the impending weather. The invitational and open sections have been combined into one race, set to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
The race, nicknamed "Pre-Nats", will serve as a preview for the upcoming national championship next month. The Tigers are set to host the NCAA Championships on the Gans Creek Course on November 22.
State will send ten athletes to the line to race in the 6k against some of the best teams in the country. Fresh off a sweep at the Belhaven Invite, the Bulldogs are primed for a competitive field.
Nelly Jemeli, Naomi Jepleting and Louise Stonham lead the team in the 6k so far this season. They will be joined at the line by Gabrielle Boulay and Ramat Jimoh, who are tied for the program record in the distance.
Brooklyn Quanz, Hunter Anderson and Mallory Streetman will be the next racers for State. The trio, in addition to Jimoh, will be returning to the Gans Creek Course for the first time since 2023, where they finished seventh overall in the Gans Creek Classic.
Trinity Holland and Milicent Kemboi round out the lineup, with the latter making her collegiate cross country debut in the race.
There will be one race featuring 39 teams from across the country. State will line up against conference foes Arkansas, No. 3 Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, No. 21 Missouri, Ole Miss, No. 30 Tennessee and Texas.
The Bulldogs, ranked fifth in the south region, will race against regional opponents Florida, Tennessee and Florida State tomorrow morning.
Results for the race will be available here, and the race will be available to stream on SEC Network+.
