Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State cross country earned both team and individual All-Academic honors, announced by the USTFCCCA.
The team earned a 3.32 GPA in the past fall semester, earning the team the All-Academic award.
This award caps off the best cross country season for State in years, where the team finished fourth at the South Region Championships and ninth at the SEC Championships.
Nelly Jemeli and Naomi Jepleting earned the individual All-Academic award, both kinesiology majors boasting a 3.52 GPA.
Jemeli and Jepleting are two of the fastest runners in program history for MSU. Jemeli holds the program record for both the 5k and the 6k, and Jepleting has the second fastest time in both events.
The duo both earned All-Region honors after their performance at the South Region Championships, with Jemeli earning an individual bid for the NCAA Championships. They both earned SEC Freshman Runner of the Week awards throughout the season, with Jemeli earning All-SEC third team honors after the conference championships.
