July 16, 2026 | Cross Country, Track & Field
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State cross country and distance coach Erinn Stenman-Fahey was promoted to the Associate Head Cross Country Coach position, announced by head coach Chris Woods on Thursday.
"I'm extremely excited to have Erinn be promoted to associate head cross country coach," said Woods. "The team's performances over the last few years, coupled with Erinn's unmatched ability to lead the women's cross country team, are more than enough reason for this promotion. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Erinn and the women's cross-country program!"
Stenman-Fahey joined the staff in the fall of 2022 as an assistant cross country and distance coach. In her four years since joining the staff, the program has made strides towards improvement both on the track and on the course.
In the 2025 cross country season, Stenman-Fahey helped oversee the program to a fourth-place team finish, the highest in nine years. The team had one athlete who advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships and earned Third Team All-SEC honors, with three earning All-Region honors. Throughout the season, three individuals earned SEC Freshman Runner of the Week nods.
Both the 5k and 6k cross country program records have fallen under her tutelage, with the five fastest 6k times in program history being run by her athletes.
On the track, her athletes have rewritten the distance program record book for State. Between the indoor and outdoor seasons, the distance squad has seen four program records fall and nine entries on the all-time list, all within the last two seasons.
In the 2026 track season, Stenman-Fahey coached an athlete to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second consecutive year in the 3000m steeplechase. She also earned Bronze in the same event at the SEC Outdoor Championships, collecting her second Third Team All-SEC honor.
Stenman-Fahey, alongside the rest of the Bulldogs, continues to prepare for the 2026 cross country season later this fall.
