Bulldogs Travel To Face Ole Miss On Sunday

OXFORD, Miss. – The Mississippi State volleyball team hits the road to take on in-state rival Ole Miss at 3 p.m on Sunday.
"We are excited to head to Oxford and kick off Egg Bowl Week," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "As we head into the final stretch of the season, we are just focused on playing hard and leaving everything we have on the court. This is a fun rivalry, and we are excited to compete and play on Sunday – Hail State!"
Sunday's match will air on SEC Network+ and the Watch ESPN app.
The Bulldogs saw a 3-2 win over the Rebels earlier this season on Oct. 22 in Starkville. State has won four of the last five matchups against Ole Miss.
Mississippi State is 12-13 overall and 5-10 in SEC play, while Ole Miss is 10-17 overall and 4-12 in league play.
Karli Schmidt has registered 10-plus kills in 15 outings and cranked 2.97 kills per set. Schmidt has led the Bulldogs in the last two matches against South Carolina (Nov. 8) and Auburn (Nov. 15). Sophie Agee has amassed 10 or more kills in 12 matches, while registering 2.74 kills per set.
Amina Shackelford has been lights out at the net by collecting 2.16 kills and 0.80 blocks per set. Caylee Sharkey has earned 1.07 kills per set on the season.
Middle blocker Rebecca Walk has registered 1.73 kills per set on a .360 hitting clip, which ranks fourth on the hitting percentage SEC leaderboard. Zoe Gonzales has totaled 1.15 kills and 1.02 blocks per set.
Libero Lauren Myrick has tallied 10-plus digs in 23 matches, spearheaded by 20-plus digs in seven of those outings. Her 4.37 digs per set rank second in the SEC standings. Defensive specialist Mary Neal has recorded 2.12 digs per set during her freshman season.
