STARKVILLE – Women's basketball will make its final regular-season Sunday appearance in Starkville tomorrow as No. 6 Mississippi State hosts Vanderbilt. Tipoff on SEC Network is set for 1 p.m. CT with Courtney Lyle and Christy Thomaskutty on the call.
Fans can listen to the action on the MSU Radio Network and online via HailState.com/Plus and the TuneIn app.
The Bulldogs (24-2, 12-1 SEC) have won five consecutive meetings with Vanderbilt (6-20, 1-12 SEC). State boasts the nation's No. 3 scoring offense, averaging 87.3 ppg. Its 56.3 ppg allowed is 25th in the country, but the Dawgs boast the highest scoring margin (+31.0) in Division I. MSU tops the SEC in FG% (49.2%), assist/turnover ratio (1.3), assists (16.8 apg), rebound margin (+14.7), offensive rebounding (18.1 rpg) and scoring offense.
Fans attending the game should be aware of multiple athletic events on campus this weekend. Women's basketball parking will take priority although both baseball and softball will also be playing. Doors to Humphrey Coliseum will open at 11:30 a.m.
MSU will wear adidas uniforms inspired by the Harlem Renaissance on Sunday as a part of the Celebrating Black Culture program. The Bulldogs are also hosting a bone marrow registry drive during the game in conjunction with Bulldog Sports Properties and Be The Match.
Vanderbilt enters the game with the SEC's second Lisa Leslie Award watch list member in Mariella Fasoula. Fasoula leads the Commodores with 15.9 points per game.
The Bulldogs will play their final regular-season home game on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. against LSU. Senior night ceremonies will take place following the game.
