STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State's women's tennis squad will open pre-qualifying action at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships on Saturday in Pacific Palisades, Calif., as the squad's three Greece natives will battle in singles and doubles competition. The tournament annually hosts the nation's top Division I women's players from coast to coast.Â
Â
MSU veteran Anastasia Rentouli and Bulldog rookie Emma Antonaki will represent State in pre-qualifying singles action starting on Saturday and ending Sunday, while the undefeated doubles duo of Magda Adaloglou and Antonaki will compete in qualifying action starting on Tuesday. The twosome is fresh off a season-opening doubles title at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic last weekend.
Â
Rentouli and Antonaki will look to advance to qualifying in singles as well on Tuesday. All of MSU's entries will be hunting a spot in the event's main draw which runs Oct. 4-8.
Â
The 125th-ranked Rentouli looks to enhance an impressive 65-27 career singles record, while Antonaki, a newcomer at State, will be competing in just her second tournament in the Maroon & White. Antonaki earned a 1-2 singles ledger and third-place finish last weekend at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic.Â
