STARKVILLE, Miss. – For its regular-season finale, the Mississippi State men's golf will host the fifth annual Old Waverly Collegiate Championship on Monday and Tuesday.
"It's always great to show off our course," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "We have a nice field, and the course is really green. Hopefully the weather will cooperate enough to get in the full 54 holes."
The two-day, 54-event starts Monday at 8:30 p.m. with 36 holes at the historic par-72 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
The 16-team field includes Cincinnati, South Alabama, Kansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Southern Miss, McNeese State, Ole Miss, Louisiana Tech, Chattanooga, Southeastern Louisiana, Lipscomb, Memphis, Kennesaw State, South Florida, Rice and the home standing Bulldogs.
Nine Bulldogs will don the Maroon and White this at Old Waverly. Peng Pichaikool, Ross Bell, Taylor Grant, Taylor Bibbs and Jackson Dick will make up the team's fivesome with Austin Rose, Garrett Johnson, Jacob Ross and Johnny Newnham playing as Individuals.
"It's always fun to play at home in front of friends and family and play a course you are familiar with," Homan said. "We had a good outing in our last tournament, so we just need to recapture that confidence and play like I know we can."
Admission is free for both days, and Hail State Rewards members will receive 300 points per day.
