STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second year in a row, the Mississippi State men's golf team is heading to Southern California to compete in the Southwestern Invitational.
The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday at the par-72 North Ranch Country Club Lakes & Oaks course in Westlake Village, Calif. MSU is set to tee off at 10 a.m. CT.
"We have a great opportunity this week to compete against some really good completion from the west coast that we don't see very often," MSU coach Clay Homan said.
The 14-team features Augusta, College of Charleston, Fresno State, Idaho, Michigan, Oregon State, San Diego State, SMU, UC-Davis, USC, Washington State and Pepperdine.
Peng Pichaikool headlines the Bulldog lineup with Jackson Dick, Taylor Grant, Garrett Johnson and Taylor Bibbs filling out the rest of the scorecard.
"Hopefully we can expand on what we did well last week and post some good scores," Homan said.
To open the spring season, the Maroon and White finished tied for 3rd at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. Where four Bulldogs finished in the Top 25 with Pichaikool earning a Top 5 finish in his career debut.
