
The Bulldogs broke 10 personal bests on day one at #SECITF

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – That's a wrap on day one from the SEC Indoor Championships. Competing against the nation's best, MSU set 10 personal bests on Friday.
The Price sisters stole the show at Vanderbilt, dominating the mile run prelim and both advancing to the final round Saturday. Rhianwedd won the event with a time of 4:41.01, while Ffion made it through with a fourth place finish and a time of 4:44.47.
In the pentathlon, Zaria Tillman and Shayla Broughton each set new personal best overall scores at 3,763 and 3,706 respectively. They both set new PRs in the long jump while competing in the pentathlon as well, leaping 5.90m (Broughton) and 5.71m (Tillman).
Marta Freitas made her 2017 debut, competing in the 3000m run. She grabbed a top 10 finish, running a time of 9:33.94. She will also compete in the DMR Saturday.
On the men's side, Willie Reed and JaQuarius Wilson broke their PRs in the shot put while competing in the heptathlon. Wilson placed eighth in that event at 13.43m, while Reed tossed 11.96m for a 16th place finish. Reed is currently in ninth place overall in the heptathlon and Wilson is 13th, with three events remaining Saturday.
"We had some good performances today," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "SECs are always one of the most difficult meets of the year, because you are competing against literally the best athletes from around the country. We are excited for the opportunity to compete again tomorrow."
