MSU Women’s Tennis Set To Compete In H-E-B Invitational

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Continuing the 2017 fall slate, the Mississippi State women's tennis team hits the road for Waco, Texas, this weekend for the H-E-B Invitational starting Friday, Oct. 6. With Baylor hosting the tournament, the Bulldogs will also meet up with players from LSU, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Houston, TCU and Tyler Community College.
Play will begin with the first round of doubles starting at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The morning session will be followed with singles at 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm. The day will finish with the quarterfinal round of doubles at 3:30 pm.
In doubles, MSU's Caroline Kelly and Khrystyna Vozniak take on Kentucky's Isabel Iglesias and Justina Mikulskyte in their opener. The Bulldog tandem of Magda Adaloglou and Sara Lizariturry matches up with Houston's Lauren Alter and Ana Glumac.
In singles, all four Bulldogs received first-round byes.
Making her singles debut of the season, State's Vozniak will face Tyler CC's Tamara Arnold in the second round. MSU's Kelly looks to remain spotless in singles this fall, matching up with Livia Kraus of host Baylor.
The Maroon & White's Lizariturry will face Houston's No. 2 seed Tsveta Dimitrova. Bulldog newcomer Adaloglou will battle TCU's Alexis Pereira.
