STARKVILLE, Miss – For the eighth-straight campaign, the Mississippi State men's golf team will start the season at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
The two-day, 54-hole season opener begins Monday at the par-71 Hattiesburg Country Club. The Bulldogs tee off at 8:30 a.m.
"It's always exciting to start another year with a few new faces and many third- and fourth-year guys who are really starting to figure some things out," MSU coach Clay Homan said.
The 15-team tournament features Georgetown, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas State, UT-San Antonio, Samford, Rice, Western Kentucky Central Arkansas, Arkansas-Little Rock and host Southern Miss.
Taylor Bibbs, Ross Bell, Taylor Grant and Ben Follet-Smith return to give the Bulldogs a veteran lineup, while freshman Garrett Johnson makes his MSU debut. Returnee Jacob Ross will play as an individual.
"We will start four guys that have played in this event before, which always is advantageous," Homan said.
