Bulldogs Tied Third After NCAA Winston-Salem Regional Round One

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Mississippi State went low in round one of the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional, carding a round of 6-under 278 to sit in a tie for third.

Dain Richie led the Bulldogs in the opening round with a 4-under 67 and sits tied for third overall.

Richie carded six birdies on the day, including a bounce-back birdie on No. 18 to close his round. This ties his second-best score of the season and marks his ninth round of par or better in his last 10 rounds.

Garrett Endicott is tied for 12th overall after a round of 2-under 69. Endicott began his round with a birdie on the first hole and played steady golf for the rest of the day, carding three more birdies to finish at 2-under.

This marks Endicott's 22nd par-or-better round of the season, tying a career high, and the 80th of his career – which ties Ford Clegg for the most in program history.

Ugo Malcor and Jackson Skinner both carded rounds of even-par 71 with a pair of birdies. Jackson Cook rounded out the State lineup with a 3-over 74.

State will begin round two off Hole No. 10 at 7:00 a.m. CT. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
