Bell looks for another top 5 finish
MSU Closes Fall Campaign At Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational
October 23, 2016 | Men's Golf
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Coming off the best finish since 2014, the Mississippi State men's golf team travels to Florida to play in the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational for the final tournament of the fall slate.
The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday at the par-72 Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla. MSU is set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. CT.
"We are looking forward to finishing off our fall season with another good tournament," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "There were many positives from our performance in West Virginia that we can build off of."
The 15-team field includes Kansas, Liberty, SEC rival Arkansas, North Florida, North Texas, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee St., Jacksonville, Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Memphis, West Virginia and host McNeese State.
MSU brings to Florida the same lineup from its successful trip to West Virginia. Ross Bell, Garrett Johnson, Taylor Grant, Jackson Dick and Taylor Bibbs will represent the Maroon and White after posting a second-place finish at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate.
"I see this team getting better each week and their confidence continues to grow," Homan said. "This is a very competitive field we will face and I expect most of the teams will be playing in the postseason in May."
The Bulldogs return to the links February 20th for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
