MSU Travels To Birmingham For Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Looking to keep the early season momentum going, the Mississippi State men's golf team heads to the Yellowhammer State to play in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate.

"It's another good opportunity for us this week to play in a strong tournament against some of the best players and teams in the country;" MSU coach Clay Homan said.

The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday at the par-70 Old Overton Country Club. MSU tees off at 7:30 a.m.

Featuring 12 teams, the field includes SEC rivals Arkansas, Auburn and host Alabama plus Baylor, Charlotte, Michigan, South Alabama, UTSA, UAB and UNLV.

Headlined by newcomers Garrett Johnson and Grant Motter, the rest of the MSU features Austin Rose, Taylor Bibbs and Jackson Dick.

"I like the consistency in which we have played so far but we will need to keep pushing forward and improve each week," Homan said.
