April 22, 2012 | Men's Golf
After turning in a 290 during the second round at Sea Island Golf Club on Saturday, the Bulldogs slid to 11th. Needing at least an eighth-place finish to have a chance for postseason play, MSU has a hill to climb with only 18 holes to go.
Eighth-ranked Alabama is the field leader at 14-under-par. The Crimson Tide's 546 card is a dominating 11 strokes ahead of No. 25 Georgia.
Sophomore Chad Ramey owned the top spot on the leaderboard individually for a couple of holes Saturday. The Fulton native turned in par for the round and is currently tied for fourth. He is three strokes back of tourney leaders Rick Lamb (Tennessee) and Bobby Wyatt (Alabama).
Senior Alex Rowland also owns a Top 25 card with a 2-over-par 142. His second-round 72 was matched by senior Clay Bounds, who is 8-over through 36 holes.
John Darden and Axel Boasson round out the Bulldog leaderboard with a 154 and 156, respectively.
